2007 July 29- How to Love

The third installment of the “how-to” series is about how to love. I think it is funny how quickly we use the word “love” in everyday living. Such trivial uses of the word “love” makes its use feel namby-pamby (high English for ‘trivial’). This message tries to make love a word that has practical implications for our everyday living.

2007 July 22- How to Forgive

Forgiving someone else is a challenge and so is forgiving ourselves. How do we do it? This week we used a bit if the Carrie Underwood song “Before He Cheats” and I mentioned an Italian proverb: Revenge is the most simple form of forgiveness. Neither hits the mark.

2007 July 15- How to Pray

The longest message of all time! Not really but as I listened again to the message it moved about more than usual. But time passes quickly when you’re having fun- maybe this message will be that for you. This is the first message in the “how-to” series about practical pieces of living a life of faith. Using the model Jesus gave us in the sermon on the mount, the “Lord’s Prayer,” I talked about aspects of praying and prayer.
